Unless you’ve volunteered or had to use the food bank to pick up, well, food, chances are you don’t realllly know how it works, what’s involved, or even what it looks like on the inside.
Here’s your chance: Friday, April 15th from 6pm to 9pm, the U-District Food Bank is opening their doors for a public Open House. There will be wine and appetizers, and a raffle drawing.
You get a chance to see how the food bank works and where your donation dollars go. Many of us donated in November for the Roosiehood Blog’s parka party on Twitter, so this is our chance to see what our donations did.
More details about the Open House are to come over the next couple weeks, but mark your calendars now. Food Bank donations typically drop after the holiday season so as we head into spring, they need continual donations and awareness.
