North Seattle cooking lessons: learn to make pie at Irwin’s, vegan cooking and homemade granola at local grocers

Limited spots are available for a baking lesson with Linda at the Green Lake Irwin’s Bakery location.  The lesson is Tuesday, November 8th from 6pm to 8pm, and costs $50 per person or $70 for a couple. You can prepay and reserve your spot by calling (206) 985-9410.  But hurry – only 10 spots are available.

Learn how to make Irwin’s marrionberry pie, from the flaky crust to the signature filling.  After the lesson, enjoy an espresso and a slice of pie on the house.  For those attending the lesson, bring a 9″ ceramic or glass pie plate.

Interested in other cooking/baking lessons?  Keep an eye on the Roosevelt Whole Foods and Green Lake PCC, both of which offer cooking lessons on a regular basis.  November 14th, Whole Foods is offering a course in vegan holiday cooking, taught by Sara Beth of Mighty-O Donuts fame.  This class is limited to 15 people, and you can reserve your spot by calling (206) 985-1500 (class is $25/person).

November 11th, learn how to make your own tasty granola at the Green Lake PCC.  PCC cooking classes fill up extremely quickly, so reserve your spot online right away.  The cost is $35 for members, and $40 for non-members.

  1. I used to be scared of stuff from China too- esp. after a bad batch of made in China Colgate toastpothe made 2 people in New Jersey very sick. I used to feel that way re: e-liquid but changed my mind 100% after I saw a youtube video of a Chinese e-liquid factory and compared it with another youtube video of the Johnson Creek factory in Wisconsin. Search for these two videos here- I think you\’ll be amazed to see that the Chinese factory\’s higher standards!
