St Patrick’s Day in North Seattle – being Irish around town

If you’re like me, you’ll be out this weekend celebrating the fact that you’re not Irish (I can’t help it, it’s a Brit thing).  If you’re everyone else, you’ll be out pretending you are Irish.  Either way, don’t forget to wear your green on Saturday so you don’t get pinched.

Conor Byrne, at 5140 Ballard Avenue, is having a traditional St Patrick’s celebration.  They’ve teamed up with street food truck Skillet who will be serving up Irish breakfast outside the pub from 9 a.m. until approxminately 1 p.m. (or when they run out).  They’ll also have live music all day. After 2 p.m., there’s a $10 cover charge at the pub, but it’s well worth it as the Seattle Firefighters Pipes and Drums perform at 5 p.m.

Murphy’s Irish Pub at 1928 N 45th Street in Wallingford is also celebrating (naturally).  They’ll be open at 10 a.m. Saturday and have live music going on all day.  Besides the standard Guiness, they’ll also have some great Washington beers like Iron Horse Brewery’s Irish Death.  There will be raffles and drink specials going on throughout the day.

The Dubliner at 3517 Fremont Ave N in Fremont will be opening at 11 a.m., with live music starting at 3 p.m.  There’s a $5 cover for the day.

If you’re not looking for a drink but rather just a sweet green treat, stop into Mighty-O Donuts for special green donuts.  They’ll be serving them up on Friday and Saturday.
